Data Scientist II, FCRM Modeling

📋 Description

• Gather data and apply data science methodologies such as data wrangling, profiling, visualization, and statistical inference to reveal actionable insights or create analytical solutions.

• Design and oversee financial crime risk models.

• Operate independently within a specialized business management area while guiding others in their tasks.

• Offer expert knowledge, advice, and support to stakeholders and team members.

• Execute intricate projects and initiatives that necessitate specialized expertise or the integration of cross-functional processes.

• Carry out tasks autonomously from beginning to end.

• Comprehend the business context and data architecture, translating business challenges into feasible data science solutions.

• Extract and prepare data, utilize statistics and advanced analytics, and leverage business insight to derive conclusions from large datasets.

• Present insights visually to effectively communicate findings to decision-makers and stakeholders.

• Collaborate with data and business analysts, software engineers, data engineers, and application developers to create scalable data science solutions.

• Enhance business processes through insights derived from data analysis.

• Educate the organization on hypothesis testing and statistical validation methods.

• Convert existing information into initiatives for continuous improvement.

• Engage in cross-functional and enterprise-wide initiatives as a subject matter expert.

• Track service and productivity metrics and implement improvements in processes and performance.

• Develop and execute remediation strategies for performance, risk, and governance challenges.

• Cultivate relationships with business divisions, corporate functions, control functions, and stakeholders.

• Stay updated on emerging issues, trends, and regulatory requirements, assessing their impacts.

• Foster a culture of risk management and control.

• Actively participate as a team member, promote a positive work atmosphere, and communicate issues swiftly.

• Provide thought leadership and share knowledge within the team and business unit.

• Engage in performance management, development, and cross-training initiatives.

• Keep stakeholders updated on project progress and daily activities.

• Mentor colleagues and assist in developing team capabilities.

• Build productive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

• Serve as a brand ambassador for the business area and TD Bank.

⛳️ Requirements

• Candidates must be either U.S. citizens or U.S. Lawful Permanent Residents (Green Card Holders).

• Must not require current or future sponsorship from TD.

• An undergraduate degree or an advanced technical degree is preferred, such as in math, physics, engineering, finance, or computer science.

• A graduate degree is preferred, along with progressive project work experience.

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience; higher educational attainment and research experience may be considered.

• Practical experience in modeling, particularly with tree-based algorithms and advanced data analytics.

• Proficient coding skills in Python and SQL.

• Familiarity with the AML domain is advantageous.

• Experience delivering production-quality models in a cloud environment.

• Knowledge of neural network architecture and Transaction Monitoring is beneficial.

• Graduate degree candidates with approximately 1+ years of experience will also be considered.
