Data Scientist, Finance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Collaborate extensively across the organization to identify areas for enhancement and leverage data analytics methodologies and tools to influence decision-making.

• Serve as the data steward for Finance functions, encompassing areas such as accounting, tax, strategic finance, profitability, and the executive office.

• Develop production-grade data products, dashboards, notebooks, and actionable KPIs to deliver essential financial insights.

• Propel incremental enhancements in contribution margin by thoroughly understanding business drivers and examining cross-functional initiatives.

• Partner in data and analytics engineering efforts to ensure financial datasets are enriched, dependable, and scalable.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in the Data Analytics/Science domain.

• A background in Consulting, Fintech, Payments, or Finance; ideally, finance should not be an unfamiliar concept to you.

• Proficiency in data engineering and analytics engineering; concepts of data storage and architecture should be well-known to you.

• A solid foundation in data tooling and visualization, with a strong understanding of business intelligence tools and self-service notebooks. Additional expertise in D3, React, or Web app development is a plus.

• Advanced SQL skills for data analysis, reporting, and dashboard creation.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, or a related technical discipline.

• Outstanding verbal communication skills, with the capability to explain intricate financial-data concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
