This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Assist the Business Management sector within Northrop Grumman’s Finance AI & Analytics division.

• Report directly to the Manager of Finance AI & Analytics.

• Provide strategic insights and interpret data for the organization.

• Create and enhance statistical and machine learning models with a focus on modeling and simulation.

• Assess and mitigate future uncertainties across different scenarios.

• Write well-organized, comprehensible code to facilitate team collaboration and ensure successful model deployment.

• Act as a reliable technical authority on methodology and technology choices.

• Convey essential requirements to technology teams.

• Guide junior team members in data science best practices.

• Keep updated on industry trends and methodologies.

• Offer innovative suggestions to enhance business value.


⛳️ Requirements

• PhD with 1 year of relevant professional experience, or a Master’s degree with 3 years of related experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience for Level 3.

• PhD with 3 years of relevant professional experience, or a Master’s degree with 6 years of related experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 8 years of relevant experience for Level 4.

• Strong foundational knowledge of statistical modeling and machine learning principles.

• Proficient in Python, with a minimum of 4 years of experience.

• Skilled in data transformation using SQL or a similar data querying language.

• Experience with version control software (e.g., git) while collaborating with a team.

• Familiar with cloud-based data science tools such as AWS, Azure, DataBricks, and Spark/PySpark.

• Ability to translate business challenges into analytically answerable questions.

• Experienced in collaborating on projects across multiple teams, managing relationships, and communicating findings effectively.

• U.S. citizenship is required for positions requiring government clearance.

• Secret clearance is necessary for initial employment.

• A degree in a quantitative discipline is preferred.

• Experience with Monte Carlo simulation, time series modeling, or probabilistic modeling is preferred.

• Demonstrated experience in deploying models into production is preferred.

• Experience in interfacing with and presenting to executive audiences is preferred.

• Familiarity with finance- or business management-related data is preferred.
