This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create and assess machine learning models utilizing Python to analyze time-series and telemetry information.
• Conduct data exploration, feature engineering, and preprocessing on both structured and semi-structured datasets.
• Apply natural language processing and probabilistic modeling to extract insights from maintenance records.
• Formulate physics-informed models based on established signal relationships for systems with limited historical data.
• Develop algorithms for anomaly detection, predictive modeling, and trend analysis within operational datasets.
• Assist in model validation, performance assessment, and documentation processes.
• Participate in deploying models into production and embedded settings alongside engineering teams.
• Work together with data visualization and software teams to incorporate model outputs into dashboards and decision-support systems.
• Document methodologies, assumptions, and findings for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Keep updated with the latest machine learning techniques and implement best practices.
• Provide support for travel or off-site work as necessary.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Assist Department of Defense clients on Predictive Maintenance and Logistics Team initiatives involving ML/AI and cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with engineers, data visualization experts, and program leadership to transition analytical solutions from research into operational settings.
• Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related discipline with 0+ years of experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 2+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience in place of a degree.
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis and machine learning applications.
• Familiarity with common machine learning libraries such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar.
• Experience with natural language processing techniques and associated toolchains.
• Understanding of time-series data, telemetry, or sensor-based datasets.
• Working knowledge of NumPy, Pandas, and SciPy.
• Ability to convey technical concepts clearly in both written and verbal formats.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Capacity to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• Preferred: experience applying machine learning to predictive maintenance, health monitoring, or operational analytics involving time-series data systems.
• Preferred: experience in extracting valuable data from extensive maintenance records.
• Preferred: exposure to model deployment concepts, such as batch pipelines, APIs, or edge/embedded environments.
• Preferred: familiarity with cloud platforms or big data environments.
• Preferred: experience in a government or DoD setting.
• Preferred: understanding of the correlation between engine signals and performance.
