Data Scientist

Posted Jul 28

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• The Data Scientist (AI/ML) is responsible for designing, developing, and validating advanced analytics that transform pharmacy, claims, clinical, and member data into actionable insights.

• This position involves hands-on modeling: the individual will take ownership of machine learning models throughout their lifecycle, utilize AI and natural language processing on unstructured clinical and member data, resolve member identity across diverse data sources, and deliver results in the form of tools and dashboards for business use.

• The role operates at the convergence of data science, clinical/pharmacy reporting, and applied AI, working closely with teams in data engineering, clinical reporting, and client success.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in a quantitative discipline (such as data science, statistics, computer science, or applied mathematics) or equivalent professional experience.

• 2–3 years of practical experience utilizing Python and SQL for data analysis, machine learning, natural language processing, data quality, and record-matching solutions. Experience in data modeling within the pharmacy benefit management (PBM) sector or healthcare industry is preferred.

• Proficiency in Python for data science and machine learning (for instance, utilizing pandas along with a modeling stack), and strong SQL skills.

• Proven track record of building and validating machine learning models, including feature engineering and ensuring model interpretability.

• Familiarity with natural language processing techniques (such as sentiment analysis and topic modeling) and the application of AI/LLM tools in real-world workflows, including validation of outputs.

• Experience with entity resolution, probabilistic record matching, and conducting data quality analysis.

• Comfortable working with modern cloud data warehouses and data lakes, and collaborating with data engineering for production hand-off.

• Experience in healthcare, pharmacy benefit management (PBM), or claims-data environments.

• Knowledge of pharmacy data concepts (including NDC, GPI, ATC, formulary tiers, prior authorization, and rebates).

• Experience with compliance-driven reporting (such as URAC / PQA measures).

• Experience in developing analytical front ends or dashboards (for example, using Streamlit or BI tools) for non-technical stakeholders.

• Willingness and ability to travel (10%-20%).

🏝️ Benefits

• Competitive compensation package, which includes health, dental, vision, and additional benefits.
