Data QA Engineer – Enterprise Data

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Ensure the validation of ETL processes, referential integrity, constraints, and data normalization throughout data pipelines.

• Conduct functional testing on stored procedures, triggers, views, and functions.

• Confirm the accuracy of data migrations and develop intricate SQL queries to ensure correctness and system integrity.

• Assess data pipelines, transformations, business logic, and report generation using Tableau and Power BI.

• Create and sustain automated regression and integration test scripts for databases.

• Detect slow-running queries, oversee execution plans, assess indexing, and work with DBAs on performance optimization.

• Collaborate with developers, data analysts, and product teams to monitor defects using JIRA or TestRail.

• Promote data quality best practices throughout the engineering organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Expertise in crafting and executing complex SQL queries for data validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting.

• Demonstrated experience in validating ETL and ELT data pipelines, transformation logic, and intricate data warehousing environments.

• Practical experience in testing database objects and structures.

• Strong grasp of data normalization and schema validation.

• Experience in documenting complete test plans, cases, results, and defects throughout the lifecycle in JIRA or TestRail.

• Practical experience with test automation tools and programming languages, such as Python, Selenium with SQL assertions, or custom database scripting, is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with Apache JMeter for conducting database load, stress, and performance testing is advantageous.

• Experience in testing presentation layers, reports, and business logic in Tableau or Power BI is highly desired.

• Understanding of query execution plans, indexing strategies, and database performance tuning is an asset.
