Data QA Engineer – Enterprise Data

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Ensure the integrity, precision, and dependability of intricate enterprise data ecosystems.

• Assess ETL processes, referential integrity, constraints, and data normalization throughout pipelines.

• Conduct functional testing of stored procedures, triggers, views, and functions.

• Verify data migrations and write advanced SQL queries to confirm data accuracy and system integrity.

• Evaluate data pipelines, transformations, and business logic in Tableau and Power BI.

• Create and sustain automated test scripts for database regression and integration testing.

• Detect slow-running queries, monitor execution plans, analyze indexing, and collaborate with DBAs on performance optimization.

• Collaborate with developers, data analysts, and product teams to log defects in JIRA or TestRail.

• Promote data quality best practices throughout the engineering organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Advanced skills in writing and executing complex SQL queries for data verification, reconciliation, and troubleshooting.

• Demonstrated experience in validating ETL and ELT data pipelines, transformation logic, and complex data warehousing environments.

• Practical experience in testing database objects and structures.

• Strong understanding of data normalization and schema validation.

• Experience in documenting full-lifecycle test plans, cases, results, and defects in JIRA or TestRail.

• Hands-on experience with test automation tools and programming languages such as Python, Selenium with SQL assertions, or custom database scripting is highly preferred.

• Knowledge of Apache JMeter for database load, stress, and performance testing is an advantage.

• Experience in testing presentation layers, reports, and business logic in Tableau or Power BI is strongly desired.

• Understanding of query execution plans, indexing strategies, and database performance tuning is advantageous.
