This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the roadmap, priorities, delivery, and ongoing management of designated enterprise data products or components within a data domain.
• Comprehend how data products are sourced, transformed, governed, and utilized, while identifying opportunities to enhance reliability, usability, quality, and business value.
• Utilize SQL to explore data inquiries, validate business logic, analyze multiple tables, trace discrepancies, and evaluate expected outcomes.
• Address data quality challenges, assess downstream impacts, and collaborate with technical and business teams for resolution.
• Convert business, analytical, operational, and regulatory requirements into product specifications.
• Define and uphold product specifications, epics, user stories, and documentation related to datasets, metrics, APIs, dashboards, and associated data capabilities.
• Collaborate with data engineering and architecture teams on data models, pipelines, interfaces, dependencies, and architectural decisions.
• Navigate conflicts between business definitions, source data, technical constraints, and governance requirements.
• Integrate data quality, metadata, lineage, master data management, access, privacy, and retention considerations into product decisions.
• Ensure data products fulfill expectations for quality, performance, availability, scalability, security, and usability.
• Assist in regulatory, risk, and audit evaluations.
• Monitor and report on data product usage, quality, delivery performance, and overall product health.
• Encourage adoption through comprehensive documentation, stakeholder communication, and enablement.
• Operate within Agile delivery methodologies while balancing roadmap priorities, data challenges, regulatory obligations, and evolving business needs.
• Establish priorities, understand data flows and dependencies, identify quality or usability gaps, and enhance delivery, governance, measurement, and usage within the first 6 to 12 months.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, business, or a related discipline.
• 5 to 7+ years of experience in product management, encompassing data, analytics, or platform products.
• Proficient in SQL and data analysis with complex datasets.
• Capable of writing and interpreting complex joins across multiple tables, tracing transformations, validating business logic, reconciling conflicting results, and independently investigating data quality issues.
• Proven experience using SQL to address significant business or product challenges.
• Competent in employing SQL and data analysis for product decision-making, requirements validation, defect investigation, and outcome assessment.
• Demonstrated ownership of a data product, data capability, or a significant element of a data domain from business need through to delivery and ongoing utilization.
• Experience collaborating with data engineers and architects on data models, pipelines, or architectural decisions.
• Skilled in translating ambiguous business needs into actionable requirements that result in a delivered dataset, metric, API, dashboard, or other data capability.
• Experience in identifying or resolving data quality, governance, or control issues.
• Familiarity with data modeling and data architecture.
• Understanding of data pipelines, data movement, and transformation.
• Knowledge of data warehouses and data lakes.
• Comprehension of data governance, data quality, metadata management, data lineage, and master data management.
• Awareness of Agile and Scrum delivery methodologies.
• Understanding of financial services controls.
• Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; employment visa sponsorship, including CPT/OPT, is not available.
• Preferred: experience in delivering data products within financial services, fintech, or another regulated sector.
• Preferred: experience with APIs in data products.
• Preferred: familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Preferred: experience with BI, analytics tools, or metrics layers.
• Preferred: background in analytics, data engineering, or a quantitative role.
