This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.
• Provide guidance to internal teams regarding global data protection and privacy obligations.
• Track and evaluate changes in the GDPR, UK GDPR, US federal and state privacy laws, and other relevant privacy regulations.
• Create, review, and update privacy notices, cookie policies, consent language, internal guidelines, and data protection protocols.
• Prepare and evaluate Data Processing Agreements, Standard Contractual Clauses, documentation for international data transfers, privacy terms in commercial contracts, and vendor agreements.
• Aid in the organization and upkeep of Records of Processing Activities, data maps, data retention schedules, and other compliance documentation.
• Assist with Data Protection Impact Assessments, Legitimate Interest Assessments, transfer risk evaluations, and privacy risk assessments.
• Analyze new products, features, technologies, and business operations from a privacy-by-design and privacy-by-default standpoint.
• Support the management of data subject requests.
• Help assess and manage incidents involving personal data breaches.
• Conduct privacy evaluations of vendors, service providers, clients, and business associates.
• Facilitate compliance with international data transfer regulations.
• Create practical legal guidance, templates, training materials, and internal communications regarding privacy and data protection issues.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to identify privacy risks and implement suitable mitigation strategies.
• A degree in law from a recognized university.
• 1-3 years of relevant legal experience in data protection, privacy compliance, or a similar area.
• Experience advising on data protection issues in the United States, European Union, and additional jurisdictions.
• Comprehensive understanding of the GDPR and UK GDPR.
• Knowledge of pertinent US privacy laws, including state-specific privacy regulations such as the CCPA and CPRA.
• Background in drafting or reviewing privacy notices, Data Processing Agreements, privacy clauses, consent language, and other privacy-related documentation.
• Familiarity with DPIAs, Records of Processing Activities, data subject requests, international data transfers, and procedures for personal data breaches.
• Capacity to comprehend intricate legal requirements and deliver clear, practical, and business-oriented guidance.
• Excellent legal research, drafting, analytical, and communication abilities.
• Proficiency in English at an Upper-Intermediate level or higher, with the capability to draft and review legal documents and engage with international stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fully remote setting.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
