This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee and defend asbestos and toxic tort litigation across various jurisdictions nationwide.
• Serve as both local and national counsel on intricate asbestos-related cases.
• Prepare pleadings, responses to discovery, dispositive motions, briefs, and other essential legal documents.
• Conduct and defend both fact and expert depositions.
• Formulate case strategies and manage the discovery process.
• Engage in direct communication with clients, insurers, co-counsel, and opposing counsel.
• Participate in court conferences, hearings, mediations, and settlement discussions.
• Support Segal McCambridge’s national trial team with strategies, preparation, and execution related to trials.
• Take part in trials and other significant litigation events as appropriate.
• Collaborate with seasoned attorneys throughout Segal McCambridge’s national practice.
• Must be a licensed attorney in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Required experience in asbestos defense.
• Preferred 4+ years of litigation experience, though candidates with strong relevant backgrounds will be considered.
• Highly desirable experience in toxic tort, product liability, premises liability, or other complex litigation.
• Proven experience in motion practice, discovery, depositions, and case management.
• Strong skills in legal research, writing, analysis, and oral advocacy.
• Capability to work independently while effectively collaborating with a national team.
• Excellent organizational, judgment, and communication abilities.
• A proactive, client-centered approach and a genuine enthusiasm for complex litigation and trial work.
• Additional state bar admissions are advantageous, especially in jurisdictions where Segal McCambridge is active in significant asbestos litigation.
