Data Principal Technical Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the senior technical authority across intricate client projects, providing architectural guidance and technical oversight throughout the delivery process.

• Collaborate with the Principal Consultant and Project Manager to ensure that technical execution aligns with business goals, delivery timelines, and client expectations.

• Define technical strategy, solution architecture, integration methods, implementation standards, and engineering best practices.

• Review and endorse technical designs, architectures, code quality, data models, integrations, and engineering outputs.

• Assist engineering teams in navigating complex technical hurdles across various workstreams.

• Identify technical risks, architectural issues, performance challenges, and implementation hurdles, and formulate mitigation strategies.

• Serve as the primary technical escalation point for delivery teams and critical client situations.

• Ensure that solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, operationally supportable, and consistent with enterprise architecture standards.

• Facilitate technical workshops, architecture reviews, design sessions, proof-of-concept activities, and executive technical presentations.

• Collaborate with Client Directors, Principal Consultants, and Solution Architects during the discovery phase, assessments, and solution development.

• Create solution architectures, technical methodologies, estimates, implementation plans, and technical proposals.

• Identify avenues for expanding client engagements through additional capabilities, modern architectures, and emerging technologies.

• Promote technical standards, reference architectures, engineering frameworks, reusable accelerators, and best practices in delivery.

• Be recognized as a technical leader across modern data platforms, cloud technologies, AI, governance, and analytics.

• Guide and mentor Technical Consultants, Senior Technical Consultants, and Solution Architects.

• Assist in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, certification planning, technical training, and capability development.

• Lead innovation projects and contribute to technical thought leadership within the Data Practice.

• Advocate for engineering excellence, collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related technical field.

• Typically 12–15+ years of experience in designing and delivering enterprise data, analytics, AI, cloud, or digital transformation solutions.

• At least seven years of consulting or professional services experience leading technical delivery for complex enterprise projects.

• Proven track record as a Technical Lead, Solution Architect, Principal Architect, or senior engineering leader on large-scale transformation initiatives.

• Extensive knowledge of modern data platforms, cloud ecosystems, data engineering, enterprise architecture, AI, analytics, governance, integration, and distributed systems.

• Experience leading architecture reviews, technical governance, engineering standards, and enterprise solution design.

• Excellent communication, facilitation, consulting, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence both executive and technical audiences.

• A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline is preferred.

• Professional certifications in Snowflake, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, or other enterprise technologies are preferred.

• Experience leading enterprise modernization, AI adoption, cloud migration, data platform transformation, or enterprise architecture initiatives is preferred.

• Experience in developing technical offerings, reference architectures, engineering frameworks, reusable IP, or practice enablement assets is preferred.
