Data Integration Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• The Data Integration Engineer will be responsible for implementing back-end, automated data integrations with customer electronic medical records, billing systems, data warehouses, or other relevant customer platforms to facilitate the ingestion of healthcare data into Caris' environments.

• They will also assist in the creation, management, and optimization of ETL processes from various internal data systems to establish a solid foundation for internal analytic dashboards.

• This role includes leading data discovery and validation initiatives to ensure the timely delivery of accurate data to business users.

• The engineer will act as a liaison between business and technology by leading the gathering of technical requirements and defining integration strategies for each unique project.

• The candidate must be able to effectively communicate technical processes to non-technical business leaders, as well as convey non-technical business requirements to technical process owners.

• They will compile extensive datasets related to clinical outcomes.

• The applicant will need to collect substantial amounts of data and organize it for seamless ingestion into Caris' systems.

• They will contribute to the architectural design and development of clinical informatics and business intelligence infrastructures.

• The candidate should comprehend business requirements and devise a plan to achieve those objectives using technology.

• They will establish access to electronic medical records across various platforms utilizing direct database access, Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR), Health Level Seven (HL7), Application Program Interfaces (API), or other standard and non-standard methods.

• The role involves gathering business requirements and collaborating with users in an agile manner to develop dashboard outputs based on ETL-sourced data.

• Adherence to documented departmental and corporate standards is essential.

• The engineer will assist with other related duties and special projects as necessary.

• Additional tasks may be assigned as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.

• At least 3 years of experience in extract, transform, and load (ETL) programming.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience working with relational databases.

• Familiarity with Health Level Seven (HL7) standards.

• Certification in Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges is preferred.

• Capability to work independently in solving application software issues.

• Experience in establishing external access and developing ETL strategies with diverse data sources, particularly various electronic medical record systems.

• Proficient in assembling and querying complex data from databases, conducting in-depth analysis, and interpreting computational data.

• Practical experience with relational databases, including Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL.

• Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, with a general understanding of internet applications for business use.
