Data Engineering Tech Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Lead and guide the data engineering team through mentoring, coaching, goal-setting, task delegation, and resource management.

• Assist developers and enhance data engineering processes.

• Diagnose and resolve intricate technical issues and challenges.

• Offer technical expertise and direction in data engineering, focusing on the selection of tools, technologies, and methodologies.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to grasp project requirements, define the scope, and develop project plans.

• Aid project managers in achieving timelines, budgets, and maintaining quality standards.

• Monitor project advancements, recognize risks, and apply mitigation strategies.

• Serve as a trusted advisor to the customer.

• Supervise the design and architecture of scalable, efficient data solutions.

• Direct data modeling, database design, and data integration efforts.

• Ensure alignment of coding standards and perform code reviews.

• Implement quality assurance processes for data pipelines and workflows.

• Enhance data processing and storage for optimal performance, efficiency, and cost savings.

• Assess and adopt new technologies, including CI/CD and quality assurance enhancements.

• Act as the primary liaison for other project teams and contributors.

• Maintain, validate, and routinely review technical documentation.

• Ensure adherence to security standards and regulations.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in data engineering or a related discipline.

• Strong technical capabilities in data engineering.

• Proficient in Python, SQL, and Scala.

• Familiarity with the Azure cloud platform and its services.

• Experience in implementing data solutions within a cloud environment.

• Expertise in ETL frameworks, data pipelines, and data warehousing solutions.

• Proven track record in leading and managing a team of data engineers.

• Extensive knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data integration.

• Strong project management abilities.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Understanding of data security and privacy regulations.

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

• Commitment to continuous learning.

• A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related area is generally required.

• Additional certifications in data integration tools or platforms are beneficial.
