Data Engineering Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Lead a small team of data engineers that support dynamic newsrooms.

• Design solutions that generate significant business value.

• Engage in and supervise the development of data pipelines.

• Enhance Courier’s data infrastructure for future scalability.

• Comprehend business requirements and convert them into valuable outcomes for stakeholders.

• Contribute to codebases for pipelines when necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in Python development and debugging.

• Experience in managing Data Pipelines: including data modeling, orchestration, transformation, and query optimization at scale.

• Skilled in data extraction using REST APIs and web scraping techniques.

• Familiarity with Public Cloud management: understanding billing and monitoring, GCP preferred.

• Fundamental knowledge of application architecture, including app development and scaling for data delivery.

• Training in Agile methodology is a plus.
