This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Design and evaluate data pipelines with the support of senior engineers.

• Combine structured and semi-structured data from various sources.

• Develop SQL queries and code for data transformation, validation, and preparation for analysis.

• Aid in monitoring data quality and resolving pipeline challenges.

• Contribute to the creation of data models, technical documentation, and source-to-target mappings.

• Engage in Agile practices, code reviews, and collaborative design discussions within the team.

• Present the results and recommendations of projects at the conclusion of the internship.

• Collaborate with seasoned data engineers on a structured 10-week project focused on data ingestion, transformation, quality assurance, and documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 30 college-level credit hours completed in computer science, data engineering, information systems, software engineering, or related disciplines by the start date.

• Must possess United States Citizenship or Permanent Work Authorization.

• Academic or project experience with SQL and at least one programming language, preferably Python, Java, or Scala.

• Knowledge of databases, data structures, ETL/ELT concepts, or cloud platforms.

• Familiarity with Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, Databricks, Snowflake, Spark, or similar technologies.

• Understanding of Git, APIs, data warehouses, or orchestration tools.

• Relevant experience gained through coursework, research, personal projects, or previous internships.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

• Capability to work independently as well as part of a team.

• A keen interest in enterprise data architecture, cloud data platforms, and responsible data management.
