Data Engineer, Snowflake, GCP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Lead the development and optimization of data pipelines between Snowflake and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Build and maintain end-to-end direct and native pipelines connecting Snowflake and GCP.

• Design and implement orchestration and automation for daily executions and deltas using Snowflake Tasks and Streams.

• Develop processing logic, config-driven transformations, and PII masking through stored procedures, UDFs, masking policies, and Snowpark.

• Implement native security policies with Storage Integrations and Google IAM roles.

• Design monitoring systems, automated alerts, and routines for error handling and retries.

• Manage and optimize modern data schemas using open formats like Apache Iceberg.

• Collaborate with international teams and partners on scalable digital solutions for global enterprises.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of proven experience in Data Engineering roles working with cloud architectures.

• Advanced experience in Snowflake and Snowpark.

• Proficiency in Python for developing UDFs, Stored Procedures, and applying Masking Policies (Mandatory).

• Expert knowledge of Snowflake Tasks and Streams for delta loading and process automation (Mandatory).

• Solid understanding of Google Cloud Storage (GCS).

• Experience in security configuration using Google IAM Roles and integration with Snowflake Storage Integrations (Mandatory).

• Familiarity with modern open-standard storage formats such as Apache Iceberg.

• Experience implementing observability systems, alerts, and error handling, including Snowflake Alerts and TASK_HISTORY.

• Strong analytical skills, a product-minded approach, autonomy, and the ability to work with complex requirements in dynamic environments.

• Official certifications in Snowflake or GCP are desirable but not mandatory.

• Previous experience in multi-cloud native migration or integration projects is a plus.
