This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Develop data pipelines to extract data from databases, APIs, and streaming services.
• Integrate and transform data to ensure compatibility with target data models or formats.
• Create and enhance data storage architectures, such as data lakes, data warehouses, and distributed file systems.
• Apply partitioning, compression, indexing, query optimization, and caching techniques to improve storage, retrieval, and system performance.
• Design and implement data models that facilitate efficient storage, retrieval, and analysis.
• Work collaboratively with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions.
• Clearly communicate complex technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders.
• Independently deliver solutions while being accountable for the outcomes.
• Operate within Agile and Scrum frameworks.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior data engineers.
• Create and implement data processing systems on the Azure platform.
• Write efficient and scalable code to process, transform, and clean large datasets of both structured and unstructured data.
• 4–6 years of professional experience in a related role.
• Proficient in Databricks with a rating of 4/5.
• Proficient in Apache Spark with a rating of 4/5.
• Proficient in data programming with a rating of 4/5.
• Proficient in software development for data engineering with a rating of 4/5.
• Azure Services proficiency rated at 3/5.
• Technical leadership skills rated at 3/5.
• Data processing architecture proficiency rated at 3/5.
• Familiarity with GenAI for Data Engineering rated at 3/5.
• CI/CD automation proficiency rated at 3/5.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying information clearly and specifically to colleagues and business stakeholders.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and related tools such as JIRA and Azure DevOps.
• Practical experience in designing and optimizing data storage solutions, including data lakes, data warehouses, and distributed file systems.
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility for solution delivery.
• Experience or knowledge of other cloud technologies, data governance, and business analysis is advantageous.
