Data Engineer – Army Vantage, Palantir Foundry

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create, manage, troubleshoot, and enhance ATIS data products, datasets, pipelines, applications, dashboards, and associated capabilities within Army Vantage/Palantir Foundry.

• Design, construct, and maintain production-grade data pipelines and transformations utilizing Python, SQL, PySpark, and native Foundry features.

• Develop and sustain Foundry ontology objects, relationships, and data models.

• Integrate authoritative ATIS data with Vantage/Foundry and other Army enterprise data sources while ensuring data quality, lineage, and access controls.

• Identify and resolve end-to-end data quality and integration challenges across source data, interfaces, transformations, pipelines, and products.

• Create Foundry-native dashboards, applications, reports, and other data products.

• Implement data quality validation, monitoring, scheduling, error handling, and reliability practices in production.

• Utilize version control, peer review, testing, documentation, and CI/CD practices where applicable.

• Collaborate with product owners, engineers, architects, analysts, and users to convert mission requirements into technical solutions.

• Document solutions, disseminate knowledge, and enhance team capabilities.

• Function as a self-directed member of the Agile team and navigate technical challenges towards resolution.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

• Over 4 years of professional experience in data engineering, data integration, software development, or the creation of production data products.

• Practical experience in developing or maintaining solutions within Palantir Foundry and/or Army Vantage.

• Strong expertise in SQL and Python.

• Experience in designing, constructing, and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines that involve complex or diverse datasets.

• Knowledge of data modeling, including schemas, keys, relationships, reference data, and transforming source data into reusable data products.

• Experience with Foundry ontology, semantic data models, or similar enterprise data structures.

• Proficiency in PySpark, Spark, Pandas, or equivalent technologies.

• Proven ability to troubleshoot data pipelines, integrations, data quality issues, and production data products.

• Capability to work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary technical and product teams.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation abilities.

• Active DoD Secret security clearance.

• Relevant DoD 8140 cybersecurity/workforce qualification, where applicable (preferred).

• Familiarity with APIs, cloud data services, and enterprise system integration (preferred).

• Experience working within an Agile or SAFe Agile Release Train environment (preferred).

• Experience supporting Army, DoD, federal, or other secure/regulated mission systems (preferred).
