This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design collocations and infrastructure hardware for data centers.

• Develop drawings for data center Points of Presence (POPs) and formulate Scopes of Work for new POP constructions.

• Prepare detailed installation Method of Procedures (MOPs) for optical transport and switching devices, overhead installations, and both AC and DC power.

• Implement, set up, and maintain large-scale production and corporate network and server infrastructures at data centers and POP locations.

• Assess and document equipment power requirements while liaising with Engineering, Facilities Operations, and collocation vendors.

• Oversee project timelines for network activation.

• Manage networking equipment assets at data centers and POP sites.

• Contribute to the documentation, automation, and enhancement of processes.

• Prepare rack elevations, floor plans, wiring schematics, and comprehensive port maps.

• Draft vendor statements of work for POP sites.

• Design cages and racks while evaluating POP infrastructure requirements.

• Document and adhere to Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) processes for relevant vendors.

• Assist in implementing best practices for data centers and POPs.

• Collaborate with Network Engineering, Logistics, and equipment vendors throughout the integration of equipment and technology.

• Provide technical assistance to Network Engineers and carry out other assigned responsibilities.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S/B.A) from an accredited four-year institution and 5 to 8 years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Ability to network with senior internal and external personnel in their respective areas of expertise.

• Proven ability to exercise sound judgment in selecting methods and techniques for problem-solving.

• Familiarity with data center practices such as cable routing, power consumption, and cooling calculations.

• Experience in creating As-Built drawings for data center POPs and developing the 3rd module on DC-CAD.

• Proficient in constructing Scopes of Work (SOW) for new POP projects.

• Knowledge of field-based operations in POPs, carrier hotels, or Central Office environments.

• Understanding of fiber-optic technology, including different cable types, connectors, optics, patch panels, and optical transport technologies.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with carriers and vendors.

• Experience working with service providers and colocation facilities.

• Capability to work in a global team within a fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimal supervision.

• Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational abilities.

• Ability to perform office-related tasks, including prolonged sitting or standing.

• Ability to navigate within an office environment.

• Proficient in using a computer and communicating effectively.

• Some roles may necessitate occasional repetitive motions or movements involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
