Data Center Design Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in the development and review of Data Center Design Requests along with technical documentation for network infrastructure projects at naval installations.

• Support layout adjustments, block updates, and device insertions through Requests for Changes.

• Engage in data integrity verification, research device statuses, and conduct quality control for configuration management databases.

• Work collaboratively with modelers and model curators to identify and resolve implementation issues in projects.

• Prepare data files for import and ensure adherence to Data Center Operations procedures and standards.

• Help with site survey documentation and evaluate the impact of facilities for infrastructure improvements.

• Take part in digital engineering initiatives, including uploads to Cameo Systems Modeler and mastering MBSE methodologies.

• Contribute to the creation of Standard Operating Procedures, process documentation, and technical guides.

• Assist with the processing of implementation feedback.

• Attend team meetings and work collaboratively across engineering, operations, and quality assurance teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited degree program in Engineering (any discipline), Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.

• Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

• Possess technical knowledge or skills in network design, technical drawing, database management, systems engineering, or IT infrastructure.

• Exhibit strong attention to detail and the capability to follow technical procedures precisely.

• Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.

• Must be able to obtain a security clearance.

• U.S. Citizenship is required.

• Preferred: Experience with database management, data analysis, or configuration management tools.

• Preferred: Familiarity with network infrastructure components, such as routers, switches, servers, and storage systems.

• Preferred: Exposure to MBSE concepts or tools, including Cameo Systems Modeler and SysML.

• Preferred: Understanding of IT service management frameworks or processes.

• Preferred: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, or collaboration platforms.

• Preferred: Coursework or projects related to systems design, network architecture, or infrastructure planning.

• Preferred: Interest in systems engineering, network design, or IT infrastructure.

• Preferred: Previous internship or co-op experience in a technical setting.
