Data Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Serve as a hands-on technical expert and a key contributor to solution-oriented cloud and data architecture.

• Collaborate with enterprise architects, senior architects, business leaders, and IT teams to define solution architectures.

• Assist in modernization initiatives that focus on enhancing performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

• Work alongside the Innovation Lab to investigate Generative AI and Advanced Analytics, converting experiments into actionable delivery patterns.

• Shape architectural decisions and contribute to team standards and governance.

• Develop solution architectures that align with a cohesive IT data strategy.

• Document target-state architectures, reference models, and key dependencies.

• Design and facilitate the modernization and migration of complex systems to scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architectures.

• Assess and prototype new technologies and applications, providing recommendations for business cases.

• Implement architectural standards, best practices, and governance expectations.

• Partner with business and engineering teams to deliver comprehensive solutions.

• Offer architectural guidance in process design, system orchestration, and enterprise integration.

• Advocate for security, resilience, and scalability across data platforms and solutions.

• Create reusable patterns, decision documentation, and capture lessons learned.

• Support full-stack development teams through solution design and implementation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in delivering data-intensive solutions, such as data engineering, analytics engineering, data platforms, BI, or related roles.

• At least 1 year of proven solution design ownership for moderately complex initiatives, serving as an architect or senior engineer/technical lead responsible for end-to-end design, architectural trade-offs, and guiding implementation.

• Demonstrated experience in various data-focused roles, including Data Engineer (ETL/ELT), Data Architect, Database Administrator, BI or Analytics Engineer, Data Science, data governance, or similar positions.

• Proficiency in architecture frameworks, performance optimization, availability, caching, monitoring, scalability, and security.

• Strong problem-solving skills and strategic thinking capabilities.

• Ability to influence cross-functional teams and communicate architectural decisions effectively in distributed environments.

• Extensive expertise in designing data and cloud architecture.

• Experience with technologies such as Snowflake or Redshift.

• Capability to translate complex data into actionable business insights and reporting solutions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• Preferred: ETL/ELT pipeline design, orchestration, data quality controls, and batch/near real-time operations.

• Preferred: Experience with Kafka or Kinesis streaming and event-driven architectures.

• Preferred: Knowledge of API-first data access patterns, API lifecycle governance, versioning, security, and event-driven integration.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Spark or comparable distributed computing technologies.

• Preferred: Understanding of data security and privacy practices including encryption, masking/tokenization, access controls, and auditability.

• Preferred: Experience in FinOps, workload right-sizing, storage optimization, and performance engineering.

• Preferred: Knowledge of CI/CD, infrastructure as code, Kubernetes, or EKS.

• Preferred: Experience with applied AI and GenAI enterprise patterns.

• Preferred: Proficiency in Java, microservices patterns, and third-party API integrations.

• Preferred: AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification.

• Education: Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in computer science or related field.
