Data Analytics & Reporting Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Serve as the primary owner of data and analytics for Ascend Technologies.

• Collaborate with Salesforce, ServiceNow, Paylocity, and Sage Intacct using SQL and APIs to extract, normalize, and structure data.

• Establish criteria for the central infrastructure and ensure a reliable data foundation.

• Maintain uniform definitions and document transformation logic.

• Actively resolve data quality challenges.

• Create executive-ready Power BI dashboards and reports, in addition to custom dashboards developed with Claude.

• Develop dashboards for internal leadership and select client-facing applications.

• Transform intricate data into clear visual narratives suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Collaborate with the Data & AI Architect on predictive models and forecasting tools.

• Report on usage of Claude and AI to encourage governed-data adoption.

• Work alongside leadership and cross-functional teams to identify reporting requirements and establish metrics.

• Translate business needs into scalable data models and dashboard specifications.

• Map workflows to uncover opportunities for enhanced outcomes through analytics.

• Manage the business-facing data dictionary and certified metrics.

• Participate in the Data Governance Committee.

• Provide key analytical requirements input for the central data infrastructure.

• Eliminate manual and redundant reporting via automation and self-service analytics.

• Introduce new tools and ideas as the analytics function evolves.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must reside in the United States.

• Availability to work during CST hours.

• A minimum of 3–5+ years in a business intelligence, data analyst, data architect, or a related role.

• Demonstrated success in building and delivering dashboards and reports.

• Strong proficiency in writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex SQL queries across relational databases.

• Practical experience with at least one major BI platform (Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent).

• Proven ability to handle messy, multi-source data and produce clean, consistent analytical outputs.

• Capability to manage workload independently, prioritize competing tasks, and iterate towards high-quality results without close supervision.

• Familiarity with data models from Salesforce, ServiceNow, Paylocity, or Sage Intacct is preferred.

• Experience with dbt, Python, Claude, or other AI tools, as well as forecasting and machine learning concepts is preferred.

• Background in managed services is preferred.

• PL-300 or an equivalent BI credential is preferred.

• Must be able to sit, stand, and bend for the duration of the shift.

• Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs is required.
