Data Analytics Engineer Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Employ a multidisciplinary strategy to tackle data analytic challenges by integrating technical skills with analytical and business acumen.

• Collaborate with Data Analytic Engineers, Data Analysts, and business associates on integrated cross-functional teams.

• Cultivate expertise in both the business domain and data analytics.

• Implement requirements to create datasets for Data Analysts and business stakeholders.

• Rapidly develop new data work tracks through quick iterative sprints.

• Utilize and improve data infrastructure that supports analytic requirements, including AirFlow, GCP Composer, and BigQuery.

• Create and execute testing scripts.

• Partner with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure user acceptance.

• Contribute to innovation and enhance processes.

• Assist in developing corporate research data files, information platforms, or data spaces for data exploration and comprehension.

• Exhibit analytic flexibility to address evolving and dynamic business requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Summer 2027 internship opportunity for students currently enrolled in a degree program.

• Actively pursuing and expected to complete a bachelor’s degree in fields such as Computer Science, Data Analytics, or equivalent qualifications.

• Anticipated start date: May/June 2027.

• Basic understanding of Python and/or Google Cloud Platform/Amazon Web Services and SQL.

• Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and source control (GitHub).

• Basic knowledge of visualization tools like Tableau or Looker.

• Proficient in Linux and bash.

• Experience in managing time and tasks effectively.

• Capacity to learn new technologies swiftly.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Intermediate written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams and all levels of the organization.

• Preferred: Experience and knowledge in Spark or other distributed processing frameworks.

• Preferred: Familiarity with statistical concepts and relevant technologies (scikit-learn, pandas, tensorflow) or geospatial analysis is a plus.

• Dedicated and quiet workspace free from distractions while working from home.

• Suitable desk and seating arrangements while working remotely.

• Reliable internet connection with at least 50 MB download and 5 MB upload speeds.
