Data Analyst, SQL, Power BI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Deliver data in response to both one-time and recurring report or analysis requests.

• Grasp customer objectives and processes, refine requirements, and convey estimated hours and timelines.

• Extract and manipulate data utilizing Cognos ReportNet, OBIEE Answers, similar query interfaces, SQL, relational databases, data warehouses, and other data repositories.

• Format data for business applications in Excel, Access, or comparable formats.

• Generate reports manually as well as through automated scripting.

• Create and sustain scripts and macros for report automation purposes.

• Assist in application testing for enhancements and system upgrades.

• Identify and report data quality issues or discrepancies.

• Develop insightful reports and document specific data attributes or limitations.

• Acquire in-depth knowledge of data for at least one line of business and support its data needs effectively.

• Maintain proactive communication with customers and team members.

• Collaborate efficiently with team members and produce assigned work productively.

• Provide excellent customer service and maintain accountability for commitments and hours spent.

• Operate in a climate-controlled office, with occasional travel by car or airplane.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in Farmers or other insurance claims is preferred for internal candidates.

• Technical experience in querying and manipulating data to solve business challenges.

• Over 2 years of experience in data extraction, manipulation, and presentation in a usable format is desired for external candidates.

• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including Pivot Tables, Pivot Charts, AutoFilter, and various formulas.

• Proficiency in BI query tools such as Cognos ReportNet, OBIEE Answers, BusinessObjects, or similar systems.

• Proficient in MS Access, including data loading, query writing, and data manipulation.

• Competent in basic SQL queries involving a few tables and limited criteria.

• Capability to type proficiently.

• Valid local legal authorization to work in the country where the role is based at the time of hire.

• Ability to perform sedentary work with occasional walking, standing, and lifting/carrying up to 10 lbs.

• Capacity to see, hear, and speak.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or a related field is preferred.
