Data Analyst – Freelancer/B2B

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Deliver expert Technical Senior Data Analyst assistance for the M2i Metals and Minerals Intelligence Platform and associated Business Intelligence initiatives.

• Organize, transform, validate, and document market intelligence data related to raw materials.

• Create and enhance Power BI dashboards, reports, datasets, and semantic models.

• Evaluate source data, reporting needs, and market intelligence use cases.

• Specify datasets, semantic models, indicators, measures, and dashboard logic.

• Set up, test, and optimize components of Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.

• Conduct checks for data consistency, reconciliation, refresh reliability, usability, and maintainability.

• Ensure integration between source systems, Microsoft 365, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and other pertinent data environments.

• Recognize and manage technical dependencies.

• Keep comprehensive documentation regarding source data, assumptions, transformation logic, data models, quality checks, dashboard configurations, and limitations.

• Create technical handover materials to ensure continuity, maintenance, and future development.

• Enhance the backend of the platform, lakehouse architecture, and data models.

• Integrate and validate data from internal or external sources.

• Streamline Fabric pipelines, semantic models, embedded reports, refresh processes, and processing efficiency.

• Design and implement a multi-tenant architecture, secure authentication, and access management.

• Establish user metrics and monitor platform usage.

• Assist with data governance, standardization, quality control, and upcoming platform releases.

• Facilitate the onboarding of additional commodities, sectors, dashboards, datasets, and analytical capabilities.

• Open to all bidders.

• A signed Tenderers’ declaration form is required.

• At least one reference for similar services with comparable scope and complexity.

• Experience in an agile project environment, such as SCRUM or a similar framework.

• Experience in a multilingual project setting involving English and another language.

• Examples of work or projects involving complex databases and ETL and/or Power BI tasks.

• Strategy for taking over and acclimatizing to an ongoing transition project.

• CV detailing services, track record, personal references, programming languages, and IT skills.

• Financial proposal presented in Euro as a net rate per person hour plus VAT.

• Indication of the supplier’s insurance coverage.

• Proposal must outline company liability insurance and/or professional liability insurance, specifying maximum coverage per event.

• Contractor must possess the experience, skills, and resources necessary to perform the services.

• Proficiency in working with Power BI and Microsoft Fabric components.

• Understanding of data modeling, data transformation, analytical dataset design, data integration, and quality assurance.

• Capability to produce technical documentation and handover materials.
