This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.
• Analyzing blueprints to identify the locations for construction projects.
• Mapping and locating the depth of utilities for fiber optic cables and other underground utilities.
• Recording interactions, site details, and utility information using organizational software.
• Engaging in communication with clients, engineers, and management teams.
• Employing various techniques (including electrical, magnetic, GPS, blueprint analysis, and/or radar) to assess utilities.
• Proactively identifying potential issues to maintain the integrity of the network and the company.
• Determining the coordinates of lines with the help of GPS or surveying tools.
• Managing asset processes and the replenishment of materials on-site or in trucks.
• Coordinating the shipping and receiving of materials for both the company and customers.
• Ensuring the maintenance of tools, test sets, and all network equipment.
• Upholding network/site security and cleanliness while adhering to all policies regarding company property.
• Inspecting cabinets, buried cables, construction sites, and other outdoor facilities across various environments and weather conditions while being exposed to local flora and fauna.
• Functioning effectively in both solo and team environments, collaborating with other teams to achieve shared objectives.
• Performing additional duties as assigned.
• Up to one year of relevant experience in field construction tasks.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• A basic understanding of underground installations is preferred.
• Previous experience in utility locating and fiber optic cable builds is preferred.
• Proficiency in using computers, cell phones, test equipment, the Microsoft Windows operating system, and Office applications is required.
• A personal cell phone is necessary.
• Ability to operate on-call 24/7/365 on a rotating schedule, including standby, call-out, dispatch, and overtime as required by the business, which may involve some travel.
• Adherence to all personal safety policies and procedures is a must.
• Must maintain eligibility to operate a company-issued vehicle according to policy (no more than two moving violations in the last three years); possession of a state-issued driver's license for your resident state is required.
• Regularly lift objects weighing up to 100 pounds and relocate them away from the job site.
