This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.
β’ You will be integrated into the IT Operational Excellence Department (IT OPEX) β the centralized hub for IT strategy, governance, and standards within a growing product ecosystem.
β’ Your role is to address a vital architectural void: while ESB/middleware teams manage inter-domain routing, you will assume definitive responsibility for intra-domain architecture and local system communications. This ensures that decentralized product teams construct integrations that are scalable, secure, and consistent β thereby eliminating fragile point-to-point connections and preventing the accumulation of technical debt.
β’ Over 7 years of extensive technical experience in enterprise application integration, API management, and event-driven architectures within intricate, multi-system corporate settings.
β’ Advanced expertise in contemporary integration paradigms: REST, GraphQL, gRPC, and Event Brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) in live enterprise environments.
β’ Solid working knowledge of ESB/middleware platforms β particularly webMethods or its equivalents (IBM Integration Bus, MuleSoft, etc.).
β’ Familiarity with cloud-native ETL and data integration tools such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Integration Services, or similar solutions.
β’ Proven capability to design, publish, and govern enterprise integration patterns β API-first, event-driven, microservices β and ensure adherence across decentralized engineering teams.
β’ Hands-on experience in enforcing architectural guardrails such as the Signal vs. Payload pattern, ensuring that large file transfers are decoupled from real-time ESB operations.
β’ Demonstrated experience in defining operating models and rules of engagement among distinct architectural and infrastructure delivery teams.
β’ A history of mitigating technical debt β proactively reviewing product team designs and offering actionable guidance before issues escalate to production.
β’ Ability to serve as a community leader β promoting standards adoption across engineering teams without direct hierarchical authority.
β’ Strong aptitude for navigating both overarching business strategies and intricate technical system-to-system data flows simultaneously.
β’ Clear and confident communication in English (B2 or above) β crucial for engaging with cross-functional stakeholders at all levels.

β’ Retirement plans
β’ Paid time off
β’ Flexible work arrangements
