D365 Licensing Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.

📋 Description

• Gather and reconcile customer usage data against licensed entitlements to guarantee compliance.

• Identify discrepancies such as over-usage, under-usage, or compliance risks and suggest remediation actions.

• Deliver clear, actionable reports and insights to management, finance, procurement, and account teams.

• Propose adjustments in license allocation to minimize costs and enhance usage across teams.

• Anticipate future licensing needs based on usage trends and business growth strategies.

• Examine Dynamics 365 security roles and accurately map them to license types (Operations, Team Member, Device, Activity, capacity-based entitlements).

• Conduct data analysis using Excel, Power BI, and/or SQL to extract, validate, and reconcile licensing data.

• Detect over-licensing or under-licensing risks and offer cost-saving recommendations while ensuring adherence to Microsoft regulations.

• Collaborate with IT, Finance, and Procurement to execute optimization strategies and enhance cost efficiency.

• Convey licensing requirements, risks, and optimization opportunities in both technical and business-friendly language.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 15 years of overall IT experience, with a minimum of 5 years focused on Microsoft licensing (Dynamics 365 preferred).

• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management license types and entitlements.

• Extensive experience in user role and security analysis within D365.

• Proficient in Excel, Power BI, and/or SQL for license data analysis and reporting.

• Familiarity with Microsoft licensing rules, compliance frameworks, and optimization best practices.

• Strong analytical abilities to identify discrepancies and project licensing requirements.

• Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Experience collaborating with finance and procurement teams on cost optimization projects.

• Preferred Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations Apps Solution Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Consultant Associate, Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management Functional Consultant Associate.
