Cybersecurity Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Perform security engineering and operational tasks across endpoints, identities, cloud environments, and enterprise systems.

• Oversee endpoint security and compliance for Windows, macOS, and Linux, which includes managing security baselines, EDR, antivirus solutions, disk encryption, MDM, and hardening operating systems.

• Manage and troubleshoot identity and access controls, including provisioning, deprovisioning, SSO, MFA, conditional access, and authentication challenges.

• Monitor and evaluate alerts and logs from SIEM, EDR, and related platforms; conduct triage and escalate complex issues as necessary.

• Carry out technical investigations by collecting and analyzing evidence, documenting results, and proposing actionable next steps.

• Oversee vulnerability management processes, coordinate remediation efforts, and ensure completion of tasks.

• Conduct access reviews, recertification processes, privileged access assessments, and validation of third-party access.

• Lead implementation phases of security technologies, which include planning, testing, configuration, pilot programs, documentation, and rollout assistance.

• Maintain technical controls and assist in evidence gathering for frameworks such as SOC 2, HIPAA, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, and others as applicable.

• Create and manage scripts and automation using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.

• Resolve technical issues and collaborate with IT, Engineering, DevOps, IAM, and Platform teams until resolution.

• Suggest enhancements to processes, tools, configurations, automation, and documentation.

• Develop and sustain technical documentation, runbooks, workflows, and knowledge resources.

• Analyze operational data and technical findings to discover trends and enhance security practices.

• Keep up-to-date with security technologies, cloud platforms, industry trends, and emerging threats.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in enterprise IT, endpoint operations, identity and access management, security operations, systems administration, or a related technical discipline.

• Practical experience in maintaining and troubleshooting endpoint technologies across Windows, macOS, and Linux, including EDR or antivirus agents, MDM, disk encryption, and OS configurations.

• Familiarity with identity and access management technologies and practices, such as Active Directory, SSO, MFA, conditional access, and account lifecycle management.

• Experience in reviewing technical logs, troubleshooting alerts, conducting preliminary investigations, or supporting vulnerability management tasks.

• Background with enterprise platforms like Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Salesforce, or similar SaaS environments and comprehension of their identity and access frameworks.

• Proficiency in using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or other scripting and command-line tools for troubleshooting or automating repetitive tasks.

• Capability to independently manage assigned technical tasks, determine appropriate next steps, and escalate issues when they exceed established boundaries or expertise.

• Skill in identifying recurring issues and proposing practical enhancements to tools, workflows, documentation, or technical processes.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent documentation skills, including the creation and maintenance of runbooks, workflows, technical procedures, or knowledge resources.

• Ability to balance technical requirements with operational and business objectives.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.
