This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design and evaluate security architectures for cloud, infrastructure, application, identity, network, and data environments.
• Create and sustain threat models that identify attack surfaces, security risks, and potential mitigations.
• Engage in architecture and design reviews, offering security guidance to project and engineering teams.
• Contribute to the cybersecurity architecture roadmap and assess emerging technologies.
• Act as a subject matter expert in security architecture for engineering, infrastructure, and product teams.
• Advocate for zero-trust, least-privilege, and defense-in-depth strategies.
• Mentor engineers and technical teams on secure design methodologies.
• Convert HIPAA, HITRUST, and NIST CSF requirements into technical architecture specifications and control mappings.
• Collaborate with Legal, Privacy, Compliance, and GRC teams.
• Perform risk assessments and create architecture recommendations, remediation strategies, and mitigation plans.
• Serve as a liaison between cybersecurity, infrastructure, application development, and business stakeholders.
• Offer security architecture consultation for technology initiatives, projects, and third-party integrations.
• Assist with customer security assessments and third-party due diligence.
• Partner with cybersecurity analysts, engineers, and architects to deploy security controls across enterprise systems, cloud platforms, and applications.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• 5 to 8 years of comprehensive information security experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in a cybersecurity or security architecture capacity.
• Experience in designing and securing cloud, application, infrastructure, and data environments.
• Proven experience in conducting threat modeling, architectural reviews, and security risk assessments.
• Familiarity with regulated environments and supporting HIPAA, HITRUST, and NIST CSF compliance requirements.
• Understanding of security architecture design and review methodologies.
• Knowledge of threat modeling, attack surface analysis, and risk assessment techniques.
• Experience with cloud security architecture in AWS and Azure.
• Familiarity with secure application, infrastructure, network, identity, and data architecture principles.
• Knowledge of Zero Trust, least privilege, and defense-in-depth strategies.
• Understanding of HIPAA, HITRUST, NIST CSF, and healthcare security regulations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Capability to translate technical security requirements into business-oriented recommendations.
• Ability to influence engineering teams and mentor technical personnel.
• Experience in collaborating across cybersecurity, engineering, privacy, compliance, legal, and business sectors.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Must possess curiosity and openness to innovation, including AI.
• Preferred certifications include CISSP, CCSP, AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Microsoft Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500), or equivalent cloud security or architecture certification.
• Must be prepared to travel and work onsite at client, temporary, or corporate office locations as business needs dictate.
