Cyber Security Operations Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and uphold scripts and automations that enhance security processes within security-focused platforms and other IT systems, guided by senior engineers.

• Collaborate with senior engineers to establish and sustain integrations between security tools and platforms.

• Generate dashboards, reports, and technical documentation for stakeholders to monitor security operations deliverables, trends, and advancements in security posture.

• Facilitate incident response and various security operations tasks through automation.

• Acquire and implement DevOps and agile methodologies as part of the security engineering team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline.

• 5 years of pertinent work experience.

• Proficiency in writing and debugging Python code; academic projects, internships, or personal projects are acceptable.

• Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git.

• General knowledge of cybersecurity from coursework, labs, or certifications is preferred.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication abilities.

• Willingness to learn and capability to collaborate across global teams and time zones.

• Internship, co-op, or project experience in security, IT, or software development is a plus.

• Experience with SIEM/SOAR platforms, such as Palo Alto Cortex XSIAM, or ITSM tools like ServiceNow, is advantageous.

• Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK, threat intelligence, or vulnerability management is a plus.

• Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices is a bonus.

• Preferred certifications include CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA+, AWS Security Specialty, or Azure Security Engineer.
