Cyber Security Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee incident response engagements for external clients.

• Execute digital forensics investigations, malware assessments, and attribution of threat actors.

• Provide 24/7 on-call incident response services to mitigate threats, preserve evidence, and reduce business interruptions.

• Conduct forensic examinations of compromised systems, networks, and cloud environments.

• Present executive-level briefings and detailed reports that include business impact evaluations and recommendations.

• Coordinate incident response efforts with IT teams, legal advisors, insurance providers, law enforcement, and executive leadership.

• Offer guidance on ransomware negotiations, business email compromise investigations, insider threat scenarios, and advanced persistent threat incidents.

• Mentor junior consultants and analysts, ensuring quality assurance on client deliverables.

• Maintain documentation for cases, track time, and report on engagement status.

• Collaborate with insurance brokers, managed service providers, and law firms regarding cyber insurance claims and breach response strategies.

• Research new threats, attack methods, and forensic approaches.

• Contribute to thought leadership through blog articles, conference presentations, and educational materials for clients.

• Develop scopes of work and cost estimates.

• Identify opportunities for broadening client engagements.

• Assist in business development activities through client presentations, capability showcases, and proposal creation.

• Ensure that deliverables adhere to quality standards and are completed within agreed timelines and budgets.

• Travel as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 5 or more years of experience in the Cyber Security field; OR completion of Zurich Cybersecurity Technician Apprentice program with Cyber Security Certification and 6 or more years of experience in the Cyber Security field; OR High School Diploma or Equivalent with 7 or more years of experience in the Cyber Security field.

• Advanced expertise in Digital Forensics & Incident Response.

• Intermediate knowledge in Threat Intelligence & Malware Analysis.

• Advanced skills in Client Communication & Stakeholder Management.

• Advanced expertise in Windows/Linux Operating System Forensics.

• Intermediate skills in Network Forensics & Log Analysis.

• Intermediate knowledge in Cloud Security (Azure/AWS/M365).

• Advanced proficiency with forensic tools (EnCase, FTK, X-Ways, Volatility, Binalyze, etc.).

• Advanced skills in Ransomware & Business Email Compromise (BEC) Investigations.

• Advanced proficiency in Report Writing & Executive Communication.

• Intermediate project management skills.

• Experience with Threat Actor Communications.

• Capability to provide 24/7 on-call incident response services.

• Ability to work remotely within the U.S.

• Willingness to travel up to 5%.
