This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide engineering technical support to clients and operators of the company.
• Identify, document, analyze, and assess service bulletins, reports, manuals, technical publications, criticisms, technical/operational issues, repair or modification needs, parts, components, and system replacements.
• Evaluate issues pertaining to aircraft structure and aeronautical systems, generators and engines, avionics, electricity, costs, and economic feasibility.
• Present and discuss alternative solutions for maintenance and modification challenges.
• Establish deadlines and implement necessary actions.
• Oversee off-site repair teams and provide guidance to contracted shops executing maintenance services.
• Maintain communication with interface areas, company units, customers, operators, suppliers, contracted maintenance shops, technical representatives, engineers, technical assistants, and maintenance mechanics.
• Engage in discussions regarding alternative solutions with personnel involved in product development and maintenance tasks.
• Coordinate retrofit initiatives.
• Address questions, monitor progress, and control the development of work.
• Evaluate aircraft maintenance and repair facilities through site visits and assessment of infrastructure, materials, equipment, tools, customer service, and staff technical qualifications.
• Develop and deliver technical and operational training for aircraft maintenance professionals.
• Prepare and deliver operator presentations on technological advancements in company aircraft.
• Compile reports related to technical visits and associated expenses.
• Stay updated on avionics, electrical systems, power plants, structural systems, maintenance, parts, components, performance, and various aircraft types.
• Consult and review manuals, specialized technical publications, and service bulletins.
• Create and present reports, charts, graphics, and cost analyses.
• Maintain organized and current files and databases.
• Translate terminology from operator and reliability reports.
• Participate in courses, seminars, and study groups.
• Adhere to company values, departmental policies, directives, and procedures.
• Integrate Lean and P3E processes and concepts into everyday activities.
• Pursue continuous improvement.
• Execute additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering or Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
• Typically 5-7 years of experience in a specialized functional discipline.
• Experience in providing technical support to clients/operators, preferably within the aviation/aeronautical sector.
• Comprehension and execution of broad practices related to the assigned field and associated disciplines.
• Capability to complete complex work assignments.
• Knowledge of aircraft systems and structures, including electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and communication systems.
• Familiarity with aircraft maintenance aspects.
• Understanding of client support and service quality techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Proficient writing skills.
• Knowledge of negotiation techniques.
• Familiarity with technical publications.
• Understanding of reliability analysis and liability (Manufacturer’s responsibility).
• Knowledge of Embraer products.
• Ability to work safely and professionally in compliance with OSHA, EPA, State, and Federal regulations.
