This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Acts as the primary contact for incoming calls related to billing customer service.
• Delivers exceptional customer service, ensuring quality assurance for all patient inquiries.
• Handles a high volume of incoming communications from customers and patients.
• Returns all voicemails within 24 hours of receipt.
• Must manage complaints diplomatically and perform effectively under pressure.
• Leverages resources and conducts research to troubleshoot and resolve patient issues.
• Reviews patient account information during interactions with patients to guarantee accurate reflection of insurance and demographic data on their accounts.
• Updates insurance and demographic details on patient accounts as needed.
• Thoroughly documents all actions taken on patient accounts.
• Establishes payment plans and processes credit card payments over the phone.
• Proficiently utilizes the billing system to document patient accounts while adhering to proper grammar, spelling, and syntax.
• Participates in special projects as necessary.
• Maintains consistent and reliable attendance.
• Complies with the Code of Conduct and the Mission & Value Statement.
• Additional duties may be assigned beyond the aforementioned responsibilities.
• High School diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Understanding of health plan benefits (including deductibles, copays, and coinsurance) and eligibility verification.
• Ability to read, interpret, and explain Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and patient responsibilities in detail.
• Educational background in medical billing or possession of a medical billing certification is preferred.
• Experience with Mod Med/EMA practice management systems is advantageous.
