Customer Development Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Build and maintain long-term relationships with key veterinary practices to identify needs and provide recommendations to meet sales objectives.

• Collaborate with designated sales districts to formulate business plans, cultivate leads, and implement strategies in targeted accounts for maximum sales growth.

• Utilize a multi-channel strategy to engage specific customers remotely with tailored content and offers through Veeva CRM.

• Possess comprehensive technical knowledge of Elanco’s product offerings to effectively spearhead new product launches and brand initiatives.

• Meet all sales goals and key performance indicators to ensure territory success and enhance customer satisfaction.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate degree or High School Diploma / GED with equivalent experience.

• Prior experience in inside sales or the animal health sector.

• Aptitude for Customer Value Selling (CVS).

• Proficient in digital tools, including CRM (Salesforce/Veeva) and MS Teams.

• Must reside in Chesapeake (Baltimore, Washington DC), United States.

• Willingness to travel 5–10% of the time.

• Preferred: Undergraduate degree (BS/BA) or Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) certification.

• Preferred: Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation abilities.

• Preferred: Capacity to strategically identify and resolve customer challenges through Elanco's organizational capabilities.

• Preferred: Extensive knowledge of the Companion Animal market, including customers and products.

• Preferred: Proven success in delivering innovative customer solutions.
