This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Serve as the technical expert for SONiC deployments on Cisco Silicon One platforms within extensive production settings.
• Offer architectural direction and operational assistance for hyperscale data center fabrics that support AI/ML workloads.
• Diagnose intricate issues throughout the stack, including SONiC containers, Linux networking, routing protocols, and ASIC forwarding behavior.
• Conduct in-depth debugging and analysis utilizing Silicon One SDK tools and ASIC telemetry to pinpoint hardware-software interactions.
• Provide support for both production and pre-production validation environments operating SONiC and Cisco platforms.
• Work closely with Cisco silicon architects, SONiC developers, and software engineering teams to address defects and enhance platform functionalities.
• Enhance network fabrics tailored for AI/ML clusters.
• Assist customers in adopting DevOps-oriented operational models, including CI/CD pipelines for SONiC software validation and infrastructure automation.
• Aid in implementing observability, telemetry, and automated validation frameworks to enhance reliability at hyperscale.
• Function as a trusted technical advisor, fostering strong relationships with customer network engineering and infrastructure teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Over 10 years of experience in networking, distributed systems, or hyperscale infrastructure.
• Profound understanding of data center networking architectures and large-scale routing environments.
• Exceptional troubleshooting abilities across software, hardware, and network protocols.
• Experience in large production environments with minimal oversight.
• Extensive hands-on experience with SONiC architecture and its operations.
• Knowledge of SAI, Redis DB models, containerized services, and control-plane architecture.
• Strong familiarity with the Linux networking stack and kernel internals.
• Experience in diagnosing network behavior using Linux tools and system-level diagnostics.
• Familiarity with Docker or Kubernetes-based service orchestration.
• Experience with merchant silicon or programmable ASIC platforms.
• Familiarity with Cisco Silicon One architecture or comparable programmable switching silicon.
• Capability to analyze packet forwarding pipelines and hardware counters.
• Experience in supporting AI cluster networking or HPC fabrics.
• Knowledge of RoCE networking, congestion management, and performance enhancement.
• Strong automation skills with Python and Linux tools.
• Familiarity with open-source development workflows and Git-based collaboration.
• Comprehensive understanding of networking protocols such as BGP, ISIS, MPLS and Segment Routing, VXLAN / EVPN, and IPv6.
