Cultivation Advisor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +7 more states.

📋 Description

• Perform field duties as a Systems Technician, which include sampling of plant tissue, water, runoff, nutrients, and pathogens; diagnosing equipment issues; validating systems; measuring environmental conditions; capturing data; documenting facilities; and tracking assets.

• Carry out structured assessments of cultivation to analyze systemic performance and operational inefficiencies.

• Assess variables such as VPD, temperature, humidity, airflow distribution, lighting uniformity, PPFD mapping, and DLI alignment.

• Evaluate the quality of source water, chemistry of nutrient solutions, configuration of fertigation, distribution of irrigation, performance of emitters, and calibration of dosing.

• Perform EC and pH sampling, analyze dry-back and hydration patterns, and diagnose root-zone stress.

• Identify plant nutrient deficiencies or toxicities, evaluate pest and pathogen pressures, align crop-steering practices, and address cultivar-specific performance challenges.

• Review sanitation protocols, spray schedules, biological control programs, and identify recurring root causes of pest pressures.

• Document assets related to lighting, environment, fertigation, and facility infrastructure, including serial numbers and modifications made to systems.

• Analyze laboratory and facility data to uncover patterns, inefficiencies, and key performance indicators.

• Develop corrective and preventative cultivation strategies and propose structured testing schedules.

• Create a detailed Cultivation Health Report following each scheduled facility visit, outlining risks, corrective measures, next steps, timelines, and performance trends.

• Update CRM and internal systems to ensure continuity and accuracy of data.

• Suggest service tiers, recurring testing plans, and optimization pathways within the Grow Optimization Program.

• Collaborate with account executives, lab services, AgTech and data teams, cultivation strategists, service advisors, and operations coordinators.

• Uphold biosecurity, facility etiquette, documentation standards, and professional norms across client sites.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in commercial cannabis or controlled environment agriculture is essential.

• Advanced understanding of plant nutrition, irrigation strategies, crop steering, and environmental control systems is required.

• Experience in interpreting laboratory data, including tissue, water, runoff, and pathogen reports, and converting findings into a structured cultivation strategy.

• Familiarity with AgTech sensor platforms, fertigation systems, and diagnostics at the facility level.

• Excellent written communication skills; capable of producing clear and professional Cultivation Health Reports.

• Experience with CRM systems and digital reporting tools.

• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in regulated commercial environments.

• Valid driver's license and a readiness to travel regularly within the assigned service territory.

• Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Comfortable working in humid, high-light, and active production settings.
