This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska.
• Provide vital administrative assistance to the culinary team while reporting to the General Manager.
• Act as the primary liaison among customers, vendors, departmental staff, and managers.
• Process and place orders, respond to customer inquiries, and disseminate pertinent information.
• Manage schedules and arrange appointments.
• Handle incoming communications via phone and email, ensuring prompt responses.
• Prepare and maintain various documents, including reports, memos, and invoices.
• Assist in budgeting and tracking expenses.
• Organize travel arrangements for the culinary team.
• Keep records of food and equipment inventories, monitor stock levels, and identify shortages.
• Place orders with suppliers as required.
• Aid in the planning and organization of culinary events, catering, and special functions.
• Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure successful event execution.
• Address customer inquiries and resolve issues in a professional and prompt manner.
• Maintain a tidy and organized workspace.
• Provide oversight for some staff members.
• Perform additional duties relevant to the success of the department or unit.
• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Knowledge of NSLP to be provided during the training period.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication, along with interpersonal skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Some relevant experience in billing and accounting.
• Capability to meet deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Excellent cash handling and organizational capabilities.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and on-call as necessary.
• Must possess the ability to speak, understand, read, and write in English.
• Basic understanding of culinary operations is preferred.
• Previous experience in an administrative role is preferred.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Flexibility and adaptability in response to changing priorities.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Must frequently lift and/or move items weighing up to 35 lbs.
• Must reside in the state of Alaska.
