CTE Computer Science – Business Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.

📋 Description

• Deliver designated course content in a virtual setting

• Provide instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning process

• Tailor learning experiences based on the unique needs of students

• Track student progress utilizing Stride K12’s learning management system

• Collaborate closely with students and parents/learning coaches to enhance learning towards set objectives

• Offer both synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences

• Differentiate instruction according to student mastery levels

• Enrich course content using authorized synchronous and asynchronous tools

• Maintain the grade book while ensuring academic integrity among students

• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion

• Notify administrators of any concerns regarding student performance and progress

• Prepare students for significant standardized testing

• Build positive relationships with families and communicate effectively with students and learning coaches/parents

• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting

• Travel as necessary, averaging once a month or about 20% of the time, for professional development, student assessments, and school requirements

⛳️ Requirements

• Alabama Business and/or Computer Science Teaching Certificate

• Residency in Alabama; surrounding states may be considered with a valid Alabama Teaching Certificate

• Bachelor's degree

• Active state teaching license

• Capability to pass required background check

• Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours a week

• Capacity to maintain a professional home office free from distractions during work hours

• Ability to adhere to the school-defined schedule, generally 9-5 or 8-4

• Experience working with the specified age group

• Background in assisting adults and children in utilizing technology

• Experience in teaching online/virtually and/or in a traditional classroom setting

• Familiarity with online learning platforms

• Ability to interpret and create numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data and utilize it to inform instructional decisions

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint

• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms

• Capability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and proficiency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
