This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Dakota.
• Assist the Upper Midwest team's operations related to Multi-Peril Crop Insurance, Private Products, and Named Peril claims.
• Establish and nurture professional relationships with the Area Claim Supervisor, policyholders, agents, and other adjusters.
• Document and communicate loss information to assess potential damages in accordance with FCIC, NCIS, and company protocols.
• Conduct field inspections, interpret maps and aerial imagery, and measure fields and storage bins.
• Utilize company software and check company communications on a daily basis.
• Adhere to FCIS, state, and company rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Fulfill necessary training and certification requirements.
• Clarify adjusting procedures and findings to policyholders and agents.
• Investigate crop damage, perform fact-finding, document information, and assess potential indemnities.
• Travel up to 50%, primarily within a two-hour driving radius of the designated home office, with occasional travel for training and meetings.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in managing crop insurance claims is preferred.
• CAPP certification is mandatory.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
• Applicable state license is necessary.
• High school diploma or equivalent, or a relevant combination of education and experience.
• A bachelor’s degree in agriculture is preferred.
• Fundamental mathematical skills are essential.
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills are required.
• Capability to complete documentation requirements efficiently.
• Strong analytical thinking, fact-finding, and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Familiarity with crop insurance regulations, policies, procedures, and best practices is necessary.
• Capacity to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Eagerness to learn about new crops.
• Ability to work in both office settings and outdoor farm environments.
• Capability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to walk in agricultural fields for distances up to 3 miles.
• Ability to climb agricultural storage bins up to 75 feet and navigate ladders.
• Capacity to work in confined spaces and extreme weather conditions.
• Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, holidays, and as needed.
• Proficiency in using required personal protective equipment.
