Insurance Verification Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Confirm patient medical insurance benefits via phone and online platforms for private insurance companies, Medicare, and Medicaid.

• Assess insurance benefit alignment with LifeStance services and visits, which encompass therapy, medication services, and telehealth.

• Re-verify current patient insurance coverage and evaluate if plans classify selected products as suitable based on patient requirements.

• Acquire pre-certification or authorization for procedures and input it into the billing system software.

• Complete data entry and documentation of patient benefits coverage.

• Notify office personnel regarding uninsured or underinsured patients.

• Deliver precise and comprehensive insurance benefits information and log it in the billing system.

• Manage escalated accounts to ensure a seamless billing experience.

• Keep accurate verification records in patient electronic charts.

• Act as a resource for other teams concerning patient benefits.

• Assist leadership with reporting requirements on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent is mandatory.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical facility or medical office billing is required.

• Professional experience and knowledge of insurance products and coverage types are essential.

• Familiarity with automated billing systems is preferred.

• Background in training for business office operations is preferred.

• Capability to work effectively in both a team setting and independently.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Experience interacting with individuals from various ethnic backgrounds, socioeconomic statuses, sexual orientations, gender identities, and other cultural aspects is valued.
