This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities by researching and targeting potential clients within the crop insurance sector, encompassing farmers, cooperatives, and agribusinesses.
• Generate leads through cold calling, networking, attending industry events, and utilizing referrals.
• Establish and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients to meet or surpass sales goals.
• Develop and foster strong relationships with clients to comprehend their insurance needs and provide customized crop insurance solutions.
• Educate clients on crop insurance products, which include multi-peril crop insurance (MPCI), crop-hail insurance, and supplemental coverage options.
• Conduct needs assessments to recommend suitable insurance products that align with clients’ risk management objectives.
• Prepare and present proposals, quotes, and product information to potential clients.
• Drive sales closure and oversee client onboarding and policy application processes to ensure a seamless client experience.
• Monitor competitor offerings and industry advancements to effectively position our products.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to create targeted campaigns and promotional materials.
• Maintain precise records of sales activities, client interactions, and pipeline progress within CRM software.
• Provide regular updates and reports to the Sales Manager regarding sales performance and market insights.
• Ensure all sales activities adhere to federal and state insurance regulations as well as company policies.
• Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, business, marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3-5 years of experience in sales, business development, or a customer-facing role, ideally in the agricultural or insurance sectors.
• Strong knowledge of or eagerness to learn about crop insurance products and the agricultural industry.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to establish trust with clients.
• Proactive and self-motivated with a results-driven mindset.
• Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel within the region to meet clients, participate in company events, and attend industry events (up to 70% travel).
