Crop Adjuster Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Dakota, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Cultivate customer relationships and enhance interpersonal skills by collaborating with and observing Territory Sales Managers, Agents, customers, and colleagues.

• Acquire knowledge of the distinctions between Multi-Peril Crop Insurance (MPCI) and Private Products.

• Observe and provide assistance with the claims and adjusting processes for Multi-Peril and Private Products.

• Gain insights into FMH’s operations and its role within the crop insurance sector.

• Learn about agricultural practices and crops across various assigned regions throughout the nation.

• Understand and articulate loss procedures for major insured crops.

• Familiarize yourself with Precision Technology as it pertains to agricultural producers.

• Shadow professionals at the Home Office in West Des Moines, Iowa, to grasp the business cycle and FMH culture.

• Acquire project presentation skills and deliver a Capstone presentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a currently-enrolled sophomore, junior, or senior at a college or university majoring in Agriculture.

• Graduates in May 2027 will not be eligible.

• Strong organizational, time management, and attention-to-detail skills are essential.

• Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.

• Basic knowledge of agriculture, farming practices, or crop production is preferred.

• Must reside in Minnesota, South Dakota, or North Dakota during the internship period.

• Must be able to physically climb heights exceeding ten (10) feet; walk distances greater than one-quarter (1/4) mile over uneven terrain; bend, squat, twist, and reach; lift objects up to 50 pounds; and stand without rest for over one hour.

• Must possess a valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable vehicle for travel.

• Anticipate 75% travel and possible overnight stays.

• This position is not eligible for work authorization sponsorship.
