Credit Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Oversee credit portfolios for a variety of public and private entities, which include investment grade, non-investment grade, middle-market, and large corporate borrowers.

• Conduct thorough financial statement analysis to determine company credit ratings and propose underwriting strategies.

• Assess financial statements, tax returns, due diligence reports, credit bureau information, appraisals, internal credit data, industry research, and peer comparisons.

• Prepare and deliver intricate credit recommendations on significant exposures and strategically vital credits to senior credit management and stakeholders in credit committee meetings.

• Foster and sustain relationships with treasury and finance teams to acquire financial data, evaluate financial performance, and discuss business forecasts.

• Write industry sector outlooks to identify key market trends.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Finance.

• 3-5 years of experience in banking, insurance, or other financial sectors.

• Proficient in evaluating corporate financial statements from both public and private companies.

• Experience utilizing ratings platforms for company research, financial data, and credit analysis.

• Capable of producing insightful qualitative and quantitative written analysis.

• Excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the capability to clarify complex financial information.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes.

• Familiar with Generative AI tools for research, data insights, and overall productivity.

• Previous fundamental credit training, including financial statement analysis, is preferred.

• MBA is preferred.
