This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Take charge of Render's brand strategy and positioning. Collaborate with the Head of Design, product marketing, and executive stakeholders to solidify positioning, brand attributes, and messaging architecture. You will maintain the balance between production-grade credibility and the developer-friendly warmth that defines Render.
β’ Establish and maintain the creative vision across various platforms. This includes the marketing site, events (such as our developer conference, internal gatherings, and DevRel moments), social media, brand and product touchpoints, as well as the systems that ensure consistent expression: visual identity, motion, illustration, voice, and tone. You'll define excellence and ensure that everything produced meets that standard.
β’ Lead and nurture the brand design team. You will oversee, mentor, and develop a foundational team of senior brand designers, while shaping the team's structure as Render grows.
β’ Develop brand as a systematic approach rather than a collection of isolated projects. You will advance the brand towards well-documented, reusable systems β including guidelines, a versioned asset library, and an evolving marketing design system β while ensuring synchronization between brand and product design as both advance.
β’ Streamline the process of how our brand initiatives are executed. You will influence how we prioritize and deliver creative work, ensuring a high-quality standard is maintained amidst rapid launch velocity and competing priorities.
β’ Collaborate with leadership in product, marketing, and engineering on how the brand is presented. This is particularly crucial during the company's key moments: launches, events, fundraising, and the next evolution of Render's product surfaces.
β’ Over 10 years of experience as an Art Director or Creative Director, preferably in developer tools, infrastructure, SaaS, or another technical, credibility-focused sector.
β’ Demonstrated experience in managing and developing creative talent. You have led designers, provided direct and constructive feedback, and fostered a team culture where strong individuals excel. You view talent development as an essential part of the role, not just an overhead task.
β’ Strategic versatility. A portfolio that showcases insightful brand thinking and the discernment to set a vision. You can delve deeply into the work when necessary.
β’ Outstanding craftsmanship and taste. A high standard for visual execution across digital platforms, identity systems, and brand experiences. You can recognize when something hasn't met this standard yet.
β’ Proficiency in brand-as-system. You comprehend design systems, guidelines, and the discipline required to maintain brand coherence as surface area and headcount expand β not merely one-off executions.
β’ Strong skills in cross-functional collaboration. You can co-own positioning with product marketing, work alongside product design on shared surfaces without conflicts, and advocate for brand representation in leadership discussions.
β’ Credibility with a technical audience. You understand, or are eager to learn, what credibility means to developers and technical buyers, and why production-grade status must be earned, not merely claimed.
β’ A leadership style grounded in trust and clarity. You elevate the standard by mentoring senior individuals and collaboratively shaping direction rather than exerting control.
