Country Manager – Retail

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands.

📋 Description

• Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with major retail clients in the Netherlands and Belgium, including Albert Heijn, Jumbo, Colruyt, Delhaize, Carrefour Belgium, and ALDI/LIDL Benelux.

• Spearhead listing negotiations, annual trade discussions, commercial terms, and distribution expansion.

• Develop scalable retail collaborations from initial contact to sustained growth.

• Assess the retail landscape in the Benelux region and craft a comprehensive growth strategy for both markets.

• Determine pricing, assortment, and channel strategies for the Netherlands and Belgium.

• Organize and implement local trade marketing initiatives in partnership with the ahead team.

• Identify, select, and oversee distribution partners, brokers, and local associates.

• Assume responsibility for demand planning and forecasting for the Benelux region.

⛳️ Requirements

• Multiple years of experience in FMCG sales or key account management in the Netherlands and/or Belgium.

• Comprehensive understanding of the retail structures, purchasing processes, and trade dynamics in the Benelux region.

• Proven experience in establishing a market or launching a new category, preferably in a start-up or scale-up environment.

• A robust network of buyers, category managers, and key decision-makers in the retail sector.

• Confident in negotiations with a background in listings, trading terms, and annual discussions.

• Strategic mindset combined with a practical approach.

• High level of initiative, ownership, and focus on results.

• Proficient in Dutch and English; knowledge of French is advantageous for the Belgian market.
