This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Suriname.
• Lead the country acquisition team in Suriname.
• Assume full responsibility for managing client relationships post-acquisition.
• Create and execute the Country Impact Plan aligned with PUM’s mission and strategy.
• Identify, cultivate, and secure funding opportunities from donors, foundations, corporate partners, and sponsors.
• Develop strategic partnerships with SMEs and stakeholders through effective account management and ongoing engagement.
• Enhance business ecosystems via strategic analysis and collaboration with entrepreneurs, business organizations, and enabling organizations.
• Build, manage, and mentor the country representative team.
• Ensure team capacity, motivation, accountability, and performance through effective people management and regular country team meetings.
• Qualify new clients based on diversity, inclusion, green, and social assessment criteria.
• Approve project proposals and ensure accurate expert matching information.
• Collaborate with program managers to facilitate the successful execution of projects.
• Occasionally welcome and accompany visiting experts.
• Engage with clients post-acquisition to ensure continuity, quality, and strategic alignment.
• Lead briefing and debriefing sessions for quality assurance, data collection, and organizational learning.
• Monitor performance and leverage data to enhance outcomes.
• Ensure adherence to organizational policies, quality standards, and project timelines.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a coordinating role with a focus on leading a commercial or acquisition team.
• Strong fundraising skills and a comprehensive understanding of local donor opportunities.
• Extensive local SME network and a deep understanding of business ecosystem development in Suriname.
• Familiarity with European work culture and remote collaboration in international organizations.
• Excellent intercultural communication abilities.
• Demonstrated experience in leadership, accountability, performance management, and stakeholder engagement.
• Willingness to travel occasionally within Suriname.
• Commitment to impact, quality, and measurable outcomes.
• Data-driven mindset and proficient in using digital tools, including Microsoft 365.
• Fluent in Sranan Tongo and Dutch, with a strong command of English.
• Must be permanently based in Suriname.
• Availability for 15 hours (0.4 FTE) per week.
• Reference checks will be conducted as part of the selection process.
• Independent contractor position with potential for extension based on organizational needs and successful collaboration.
