Country Director

📋 Description

• Spearhead the Future of Forests initiative in Indonesia by realizing the potential of FSC within the country.

• Position FSC among various stakeholders in the Government, Private sector, and Environmental Non-Governmental Organizations (ENGOs).

• Establish the national strategy in alignment with regional priorities and the FSC Global Strategy.

• Offer leadership in formulating and executing a national government advocacy agenda.

• Collaborate with key partners and stakeholders to enhance responsible forest stewardship.

• Oversee the development, operation, and management of forest stewardship standards.

• Provide leadership in market and value chain advancement in the country.

• Inspire, develop, and mentor direct reports.

• Manage the operational aspects of the country team, including budget formulation and oversight.

• Cultivate strong and cooperative working relationships within the broader FSC Network.

• Work with the Membership Unit to expand membership across various chambers.

• Represent the organization at forums, conferences, and both national and international events.

⛳️ Requirements

• A graduate degree in a relevant field, or equivalent professional experience.

• A minimum of 15 years of professional experience in a senior management role within an international, multicultural, and/or multi-stakeholder organization.

• Strong leadership capabilities, able to effectively manage a relatively small team across a large territory while maintaining focus on key priorities.

• High cultural sensitivity, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to excel as a member of a multicultural, interdisciplinary, multilingual, and global organization.

• Solutions-oriented with an analytical mindset; creative and organized in accomplishing tasks in an environment that is relatively remote from the administrative and functional support of the headquarters in Bonn.

• Proficient in Bahasa Indonesia and fluent in English (both spoken and written) is essential.
