This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.
• The Learning Facilitator/Lecturer is tasked with the preparation, delivery, and assessment of subjects assigned in the VET CHC51015 Diploma of Counselling.
• Educators are responsible for ensuring that students have the optimal opportunity to achieve learning outcomes and successfully complete their assessment tasks.
• Lecturers are expected to engage in course review initiatives, which include validation and moderation activities, and must be available to offer student support beyond scheduled class hours.
• Educators should remain informed about developments in the counselling field by participating in relevant professional development activities and maintaining their expertise through a self-directed program of academic scholarship and professional growth.
• Manage both small and large classes, whether blended, hybrid, or online, while monitoring and ensuring student participation.
• Effectively manage their own time as well as the attention of students towards the learning process.
• Validate and assess teaching materials, providing necessary recommendations in line with organizational policies and procedures.
• Appropriately utilize all current subject/unit outlines, teaching resources (including shared lesson plans, slides, videos, etc.), and student learning materials (such as texts, workbooks, handouts, study guides, interactive PDFs, portal content, journal articles, etc.).
• Effectively employ learning technologies and integrate them into subject or unit delivery.
• Engage in student-centered learning and teaching methods, including but not limited to competency-based learning and assessment, flipped learning, and maintaining an active and positive educational experience.
• Experience in education, training, and assessment for the CHC51015 Diploma of Counselling.
• Understanding of pedagogical and/or adult learning principles pertinent to teaching counselling subjects, including theoretical components and interpersonal skills, case management, and mental health.
• Appropriately qualified in the relevant discipline for the level of teaching (holding qualifications at Diploma level or higher than the course being taught).
• Must possess the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
• A solid understanding and practical experience in professional counselling for a minimum of two years.
• Full membership of either the PACFA or ACA counselling association.
