This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.
• Structure, draft, negotiate, and review a wide array of global commercial agreements, including those that are highly complex and innovative.
• Collaborate with and provide strategic and legal guidance to various cross-functional teams, including but not limited to sales, product, finance, tax, customer operations, and risk management.
• Lead or engage in projects aimed at enhancing internal processes and boosting the efficiency and scalability of the Commercial Legal team.
• Train and assist in educating internal business partners.
• Manage and address legal issues that emerge in existing domestic and international commercial relationships.
• Develop and refine templates for global revenue-generating commercial agreements.
• Foster collaborative and effective working relationships with various teams in the U.S. and internationally.
• JD from an accredited institution and current membership in good standing with the bar in at least one U.S. state.
• Over 5 years of experience in complex commercial drafting and negotiation (preferably involving revenue-generating contracts); prior experience in-house and at a law firm is advantageous.
• Strong project management abilities with a knack for organizing, prioritizing, and maintaining composure under pressure.
• Capacity to prioritize and advance multiple concurrent deals within tight deadlines while delivering high-quality work products.
• Excellent judgment and the ability to make timely, pragmatic, and business-focused decisions in ambiguous circumstances with imperfect information.
• A robust work ethic, sense of ownership, accountability, and a proactive attitude to take initiative and do what needs to be done.
• Experience in drafting and negotiating data privacy terms, including but not limited to CCPA, GLBA, and GDPR contract terms.
• Clear and concise communication skills for effective collaboration and negotiation with both internal and external business and legal teams.
